British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community shared sympathy for the star in the wake of the devastating accident.
